Testing candidates' knowledge of Northeast schools and community needs

DENVER, CO - On Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Cole Arts and Science Academy, there was a public school board forum with Landri Taylor and Roger Kilgore, the two Northeast candidates, and Barbara O'Brien and Michael Kiley, the two at-large candidates. Together Colorado parent leaders facilitated the forum with people from Northeast neighborhoods.

Together Colorado parent leaders led the DPS School Board public forum to inform other Northeast parents about the candidates' positions on the issues that impact their neighborhood schools. Additionally, parents are tested the candidates' knowledge of Northeast schools and community needs.


Together Colorado is a non-partisan, multi-racial, multi-faith community organization that unlocks the power of people to transform their communities through community organizing.

Near Northeast Network is a group of committed parents, educators and community leaders united to transform the educational opportunities for students in Near Northeast Denver. This network is creating a region of excellence in Near Northeast Denver. Within this zone are 15 schools that provide high-quality educational options, from pre-school through high school. The schools collaborate as much as possible for the benefit of all students.
