Together Colorado was founded in 1979 (as Metro Organizations for People) with the mission of empowering people to strengthen and transform their communities through community organizing. Comprised of over 40 member congregations and schools, 120 affiliated clergy/faith leaders from Pueblo to Fort Collins, and a growing statewide network of clergy and faith leaders, we are building a statewide non-partisan, multi-racial, multi-faith community organization that is committed to putting human dignity at the center of public life in Colorado. During the 2014 Colorado Legislative Session, Together Colorado held a Day at the Capitol with 60 community leaders, and has had members testify at committee hearings on Allowing Concealed Weapons to be Carried In Public Schools (HB1157), Background Checks and Fees for Gun Transfers (SB94) and several education-related bills.
