With heavy hearts, Together Colorado mourns the tragic loss of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, whose lives were taken in a horrific act of violence outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.

That this attack occurred during Jewish American Heritage Month — and at a site dedicated to the memory and resilience of the Jewish people — is a chilling reminder of the rise in antisemitism and political violence across our nation. These acts are not only attacks on individuals — they are assaults on our shared humanity and on the values of dignity, safety, and belonging that we hold sacred.

As a multi-racial, multi-faith organization committed to building Beloved Community, we stand in deep solidarity with our Jewish siblings in Colorado and across the country. We recognize the fear and pain this tragedy brings and call one another into deeper commitment to justice, healing, and unity. Antisemitism and political violence have no place in our movements or in our society.

In this moment of grief, we recommit ourselves to centering human dignity in public life, in Colorado and beyond. We call on all people of faith and moral courage to join us in creating a world where every person — no matter our background, race, and religion — can live and worship in safety and dignity.
