Dear Council,

As leaders and members of faith communities who call Broomfield home, we are writing to you regarding the upcoming July 30 hearing on the cutting-edge Harvest Hill affordable housing project. 

We urge you to complete the good work done to this point by the Ulysses Development Group, the Broomfield Housing Alliance, CCOB staff and yourselves, by authorizing the release of the full $2.5 million needed from CCOB funds to ensure Harvest Hill can break ground this fall!

We understand Ulysses has already obtained tens of millions of dollars in commitments for other necessary project funding, making this the very last amount needed to make Harvest Hill shovel ready. As you know, Harvest Hill’s 152 units will be located adjacent to an important transportation hub and will include electric vehicle charging stations, features that echo important local and state priorities for housing development. As faith and community leaders in Broomfield, we often come face-to-face with the many struggles related to housing affordability experienced by our neighbors. In our own congregations, we have members who struggle to afford rent and, in some cases, make the difficult decision to move away from Broomfield to find housing they can afford. We believe bringing 152-units of truly affordable housing online in the very short-term is truly a game changer, and even perhaps, a God-send.

We envision a future in Colorado where our communities are vibrant and thriving, and where housing is safe, affordable, and plentiful. Please vote “Yes” on Harvest Hill to help that vision become a reality.
