Together Colorado had historic wins in 2018 including two major statewide ballot victories!
Amendment A & Proposition 111
We led the effort to win Amendment A and became the first state in the nation to abolish slavery and involuntary servitude as punishment for a crime in our state constitution. We also played a leading role in the effort to win Proposition 111 which capped payday lending interest rates and fees at 36%.
Expanded Driver Licenses for Immigrants & RTD Youth and Low-Income Passes!
In the legislature, we played a leadership role in winning legislation that streamlined our immigrant driver’s license program to include online/mail renewals and expanded the program to include immigrants with SSN’s. We organized for expanded discounts for the Regional Transportation District (RTD) Youth Pass and helped establish a new RTD Low-Income Pass to increase transit equity in our state.

“Because of my faith, I think no one should be treated inhumanely. There is nothing that anyone could do to justify slavery. Having slavery in our constitution diminishes human dignity.”
– Lee McNeil, Together Colorado Board Director & Abolish Slavery Colorado Co-Chair
