Faith Voices: Be Known for Loving Others – Elder Norm Davey

Today’s turmoil can be viewed as a challenge or opportunity. Decisions regarding in-person worship, debates about the safety of schools in the face of a pandemic, protests in search of racial justice, and sacrifices due to financial hardship have all been added to the set of spiritual challenges faith leaders faced merely six months ago.

Our faith is never tested in times of comfort and safety. The opportunity lies in our reactions. While outcomes are not guaranteed, the love we share from our Creator God can open the ears, eyes and hearts of others.

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth” – 1 John 3:18

We are placed into specific situations in life, equipped by God, and given the purpose of reflecting love on the world. Let us embrace that truth, engage in these challenges, and most of all, be known for the love that surpasses all understanding.

– Elder Norm Davey, The Way Church, Metro Denver Faith Leaders Caucus
