Almighty, Eternal and Merciful God, we thank you for being the Cornerstone of Peace, Justice, Equality and Equity. The tragedies, inequalities, disparities and injustice that we witness and experience makes us wonder, “Why, God, Why?”
We are praying, for peace that seeks an end to oppression, that is historically rooted in racism. Hear our prayer, O God, we place our trust in you!
We are praying, for peace where we are enabled to see all who cross our path as sisters and brothers. Hear our prayer, O God, we place our trust in you!
We are praying, for peace that allows people to go about their lives with divine safety and protection. Hear our prayer, O God, we place our trust in you!
We are praying, for peace that involves patience and perseverance, which births a model of genuine racial healing and reconciliation. Hear our prayer, O God, we place our trust in you!
We are praying, for peace that protects those involved in protest against injustice and violence. Hear our prayer, O God, we place our trust in you!
We are praying, for peace that gives courage to those who interrupt the status quo and challenge systems. Hear our prayer, O God, we place our trust in you!
We are praying for peace that grants us the tenacity to take concrete steps to achieve peace, justice and equality for all people. Hear our prayer, O God, we place our trust in you!
We are praying, as you lead St Francis of Assisi,
“Make us an instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let us sow Love; where there is injury, Pardon; where there is doubt, Faith; where there is despair, Hope; where there is darkness, Light; where there is sadness; Joy.”
Heavenly Father, Come to our rescue! Grant us Peace, Teach us Peace and Guide our steps in the way of Peace.
Renew our hearts and minds, so that our way of life will be that of Shalom, Peace, Salaam, Amen.
