Shorter Community AME Church Honors Together Colorado with Shoes of Justice Award

On January 20, 2019, Together Colorado was among six recipients to receive the Shoes of Justice Award from Shorter Community African Methodist Episcopal Church of Denver. It is with deep gratitude that Board President, Sharon Bridgeforth and Executive Director, Mike Kromrey, accepted the award on Together Colorado’s behalf for our organization’s commitment to faith-based, social justice advocacy.

Thank you, Shorter Community AME Church and the Reverend Dr. Timothy Tyler for this recognition of our collective work for human dignity. For Together Colorado to be honored on the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Shoes of Justice Sunday is an event we will take with us into 2019 and beyond as we continue our work together.

“This award makes us want to do more and do better. This gives us the momentum to keep going.” – Sharon Bridgeforth, Together Colorado Board President

The Shoes of Justice Award is “designed to say thank you to persons who are not members of Shorter Church but have partnered with Shorter to do the work of Christ in the community. Today and tomorrow as we celebrate the life and legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., let us also recognize those who work every day to make his dream a reality, May those of you who will be honored today with The Shoes of Justice Award continue to walk in the path of service to all.”
