Dear Together Colorado Community,
We write today in solidarity with our Jewish siblings who are a crucial part of Together Colorado’s multifaith tapestry.
Over the past few weeks, we have all witnessed the rise in anti-Semitic and hateful remarks from celebrities and politicians. This is part of an alarming pattern of growing anti-Semitism in the United States. From a report by the Anti-Defamation league, “Last year, ADL saw the largest number of reported incidents against Jews in the U.S., according to our annual Audit of Antisemitic Incidents. Today, we see the mainstreaming of antisemitism by high-profile figures and celebrities with massive platforms. It is critical that we continue to fight antisemitism.”
It is incredibly concerning to see public figures spewing vitriolic commentary and misinformation rooted in violence and anti-Semitism. Here at Together Colorado, we are a beloved community, and when one part of this community is attacked, we are all attacked.
To our Jewish siblings: we see you, we hurt with you, and we stand with you.
To our non-Jewish members: Take a moment today to check on a Jewish friend. Be public with your solidarity – post on social media, make an announcement of solidarity in your congregation, and speak to your friends and family.
It is up to all of us to face all forms of hate with a powerful wave of solidarity and love.
With love and care,
Mike Kromrey, Executive Director, Together Colorado
Lee McNeil, Board President, Together Colorado
